Robert Leroy Cochran

Robert LeRoy Cochran (January 28, 1886 – February 23, 1963) was a Nebraska Democratic politician best known for being the 27th governor of Nebraska. He was born in Avoca, Nebraska He served in World War I, then ran for governor of Nebraska and won in 1935. In 1940 he ran unsuccessfully for Nebraska senator. He served as a colonel in the U.S. Army during World War II. He was a member of the Episcopal Church, a freemason, a member of the Masonic Knights Templar, a Shriner, and a member of Alpha Tau Omega.
