Robert Emmiyan

Robert Emmiyan (Armenian: Ռոբերտ Էմմիյան; born February 16, 1965 in Leninakan) is a retired long jumper who represented USSR and later Armenia. His personal best jump of 8.86 metres is the current European record, and the fourth best result of all times.
His achievements include a silver medal at the 1987 World Championships as well as European Indoor gold medals. He also won the gold medal at the 1986 European Championships with a jump of 8.41 metres, which is still the championship record (CR). With 8.49 he holds the championship record for the European Indoor Championships as well.
Emmiyan currently lives in France.
