Making his London debut when he was thirteen, Emery performed at the Purcell Rooms to much acclaim, and in the same year performed Gershwin's Rhapsody in Blue with the Birmingham Conservatoire Orchestra.

He has worked with such people as Geoffrey Skidmore, Bob Chilcott and Sir Simon Rattle. He has also conducted the Birmingham Philharmonic Orchestra, West London Chorus and Orchestra, Ad-Hoc Choir, and has performed to members of the Royal family, one hundred Members of Parliament at Westminster Hall - as well as playing on the piano that the late Diana, Princess of Wales practiced on-board the Royal Yacht Britannia.

Emery recorded his debut album ‘Enlightening’ at the age of 16, and in the summer of 2002 and 2003 Robert went on Tour, and managed to thrill audiences at 32 different venues across the UK with the concert series, Robert Emery: A Classical Experience. This combined with the launch of the second album – Robert Emery: Live in Concert, moved him forward to performing at many prestigious events, including the Stafford Festival of Music in May 2003, 2004 and 2005.

He has also found the time to learn a considerable amount of major piano works, run a private teaching practice in West London, and become the Managing Director of The Arts Group Limited.
