From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Pop artist Robert A. Delgadillo (RAD) was born on November 5, 1971 in Los Angeles, California. His parents, of Mexican and Chilean descent, state that Robert "was drawing before he could walk or talk."
As a child, Robert was intrigued by both art and the entertainment industry. As a result of these interests, Robert used his art to pay homage to the people that inspired him. His artwork has evolved into a fusion of Hollywood, fashion and contemporary design.
Robert did his first solo art exhibition in 2005 in Beverly Hills. The show featured portraits of contemporary pop icons like Michael Jackson, Paris Hilton, Gwen Stefani and vintage screen idols like Marylin Monroe,Elvis Presley and Audrey Hepburn. One of the hightlights of the show, was a work of art entitled "Temptation". The painting featured Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie as Adam and Eve. The work caused such a stir, it gained the artist recognition on an international level and a full page write up in In Touch Weekly Magazine.
Robert has done portraits for many celebrities including Justin Timberlake, Ashton Kutcher and Demi Moore, Paris Hilton, Nicole Richie, Paz Vega, Ryan Seacrest and Victoria Beckham.
His work has also played an notable role in the Fashion Industry. Robert's drawings have been featured in major campaigns for the hip Beverly Hills boutique Kitson. The ads have run in major magazines and on billboards throughout the United States. The ads have become somewhat revolutionary in the world of design[citation needed], as they featured purely illustration to sell the merchandise. A big gamble in a stake where typically fashion models are used to motivate consumers.
Robert currently resides in Southern California.
