Robert D. Fitzgerald

Robert D. Fitzgerald 1830-1892, was an Irish / Australian surveyor, botanist and poet. His grandson was the Australian poet R. D. Fitzgerald.

Fitzgerald was born in Tralee, Co. Kerry, the son of a bank manager. He studied engineering at Queen's College, Cork, (now known as University College Cork), and emigrated to Australia.
