Robert James ("Bobby") Connor, (born, Kilmarnock 4th August 1960) is a former Scotland international football, known for his spell with Aberdeen. He was most recently employed as the manager of Ayr United, until February 2007. Robert failed miserably in this spell as manager. Leading the proud Ayrshire club to narrowly avoiding relegation in season 2005/06 and parted company with the club with the club sliding towards the relegation zone again in season 2006/07. These 2 seasons saw Ayr achieve 3 of their worse ever runs of results in their 97 year history.

Remarkably after 27 games and only scoring 27 goals this season, and 1 win in 14 games in a very poor league, he was still adamant that he was the right man for the job despite a run of 3 games won with 10 goals scored after his departure. It is his bitter attacks on the club and their fans after his departure that is what most people at the club are going to remember him for and not what he achieved during his playing days.

Connor played 263 appearances (12 as substitute) and scored 22 goals for Aberdeen after signing from Dundee in 1986. He was Alex Ferguson's last signing for the Dons before departing to Manchester United. He was capped once by Scotland whilst with Dundee and made 3 further appearances into his Aberdeen career.

After leaving the Dons in 1994 he played for Kilmarnock, Ayr United (as he did when he started his career), Partick Thistle and Queen of the South in senior football, before retiring.
