Rob Nijjar

Rob Nijjar was first elected to the BC Legislature in the 2001 Provincial general election. Rob was the Chair of the Government Caucus Committee on the Economy. At one time he was also the Deputy Chair of the Legislative Standing Committee for Education and Chaired the Sub-Committee on Youth Employment.

He attended school in southeast Vancouver and Langara College before earning a Bachelors Degree in General Studies from Simon Fraser University in 1992. Following graduation, Rob spent several years as a business manager for companies such as Jenny Craig Inc., family-run restaurants and other service industry businesses before becoming active in politics. Rob has worked at the municipal, provincial, and federal levels of politics.

Born in 1967, Rob is a life-long resident of the east side of Vancouver.
