According to the liner notes of "Mississippi Blues Vol. 3" (Document Records Cat#DOCD-5671), this photo was taken as a publicity photo. According to the allmusic.com biography, written by Stacia Proefrock, this photo is the only known photo of Robert Petway. Since these are both credible sources, and since no other photo could be found, this photo should fall under either "promotional" or "historical" or both. This copy of the image comes from http://www.wirz.de/music/petwafrm.htm. The site credits http://www.thedevilsmusic.net/lyrics/robert_petway.html as its source for the image and Stefan Wirz as the processor.
