[edit] Technosigner

You may have noticed that Technosigner was proposed for deletion. As the prod tag was removed, the process has stopped. However, the article remains questionable as it stands, so I have added some maintanence tags to flag the article for certain concerns. I thought I'd do you the courtesy of explaining some of my reasoning.

I flagged it for "importance", because the article gives no indication that this term is widespread. Please review WP:NEO for why new terms are usually not appropriate for articles and WP:WINAD for the problems with trying to write an encyclopedia article about a word.

I flagged it for "context" because it doesn't say if the article refers to fashion design, interior design, graphic design, all of the above, whatever.

I flagged it "unreferenced" because there are no sources. I removed the quotation, because you appeared to be quoting yourself. If that quote was published somewhere and can be properly sourced, please feel free to add it back in. Please review WP:V for the importance of articles being verifiable by outside sources.

I also removed your signature from the article. Articles are collaborative, so we don't sign them. You might check out WP:OWN for the reasoning behind that.

I don't mean to make Wikipedia a bad experience for you. You don't have to fix this article if you don't want to. You can find plenty of other things to do here. If you think the article is unsalvagable, don't remove the text (blanking). Submitting an article for deletion after it's failed prod is a little bit complicated, but if you let me know, I can do it for you--if you think it ought to be deleted. If someone else does this, check the deletion notice for how to proceed. An "AfD" notice should not be removed, but it says right on the notice, so you'll know. Anything you do with regards to the article, fixing or not, is totally up to you. Hope to see you around!

Sorry,
I am new to Wikidedia and did not understand the criterea for an entry. Technosigner is definately a neologism. I would like to have it deleted and save the dialog trouble. Can you advise?

Richard
No problem. Go back to Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Technosigner and strike out your "keep" vote. Like this: <s>Keep</s>, which yields Keep. (Sorry if you already knew how to do that, just making sure.) Then make a new comment at the bottom saying that you are the author and you change your vote to delete, based on Wikipedia guidelines you didn't know about before. Since you're the one who wrote the article, they may close the discussion early. Normally it sits on AfD for five days or more to get a good chance to let people express their opinions, but there are a few cases where articles can be deleted faster. Make sense?
