Riverview, Belmont County, Ohio
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Riverview, Ohio, no longer in existence, was once a small village located in Belmont County approximately five miles north of Bellaire, Ohio on state route 7. Riverview bordered with Whiskey Run, another small village just off SR.7. At one time, prior to the mid 1950s, Riverview was a bustling and friendly community with one grocery store. From the mid 50's through its end in the late 70's, properties were purchased by the state, one by one, to make way for what is now the I-470 cloverleaf connecting Ohio and West Virginia. Remnants of Riverview may still be seen from SR.7 if one looks to the hillside when traveling south from the I-470 interchange.
