Riverton is a village in Franklin County, Nebraska, United States. The population was 145 at the 2000 census.

Riverton is located at 40°5′20″N, 98°45′39″W (40.088907, -98.760763)GR1.

According to the United States Census Bureau, the village has a total area of 1.0 km² (0.4 mi²), all land.

As of the censusGR2 of 2000, there were 145 people, 63 households, and 38 families residing in the village. The population density was 143.6/km² (368.8/mi²). There were 75 housing units at an average density of 74.3/km² (190.8/mi²). The racial makeup of the village was 98.62% White, 0.69% Asian, and 0.69% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 2.07% of the population.

There were 63 households out of which 25.4% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 47.6% were married couples living together, 6.3% had a female householder with no husband present, and 38.1% were non-families. 34.9% of all households were made up of individuals and 25.4% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.30 and the average family size was 3.00.

In the village the population was spread out with 29.0% under the age of 18, 3.4% from 18 to 24, 20.0% from 25 to 44, 24.1% from 45 to 64, and 23.4% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 42 years. For every 100 females there were 101.4 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 106.0 males.

The median income for a household in the village was $19,750, and the median income for a family was $25,625. Males had a median income of $32,917 versus $16,875 for females. The per capita income for the village was $10,936. There were 16.2% of families and 35.8% of the population living below the poverty line, including 46.4% of under eighteens and 20.8% of those over 64.
