River Valley Primary School

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

River Valley Primary School in Singapore was established in 1985 when three primary schools, River Valley Chinese, River Valley English and Kim Seng merged to form one school with a pupil enrolment of 1700. However, the pupil enrolment steadily declined to 1260 in 1995 due to demographic changes and lack of facilities. Between 1996 and 2000, the pattern of falling enrolment was reversed and the present enrolment stands at 1430. This increase could be attributed to a higher school profile when the school consistently achieved good results in Primary School Leaving Examination as well as P3 Screening Examination. The school is also on Ministry of Education's list of top 30 popular primary schools for admission of foreign students (1999). Its current principal is Mrs Sita Singh and vice-principal is Mr Pang Eng Poh.
