River (album)

River is an album by Michael Hunter, released in 1994. Michael Hunter is an engineer for Marillion, and was an assistant engineer on Marillion's Brave album. River is an album of ambient and instrumental music, composed and performed by Michael Hunter. It includes musical themes and effects from Marillion's pre 1994 albums. The music was originally played to create an ambient atmosphere that would lead to the performance of Marillion's Brave album. The fans liked the music, and Marillion decided to release it on CD.

The River album was originally released as a Marillion fan club CD, and later re-issued on Marillion's label Racket Records and sold at their official website. The latest issue of the album is being sold from Marillion's Front Row Club.

River was recorded by Michael Hunter at The Racket Club, and edited by Dani Griffiths.
