Ritchie McKay

Ritchie Lawrence McKay (April 22, 1965 – ) is the current head coach of the Liberty University men's basketball team. The Indianapolis, Indiana native was the head coach at the University of New Mexico from 2002 until his firing on February 22, 2007. McKay's father, Joe McKay, was a starter for the Lobo basketball team from 1960-63.
During his time at New Mexico, McKay experienced mixed success. In 2005 his team won the Mountain West Tournament and an automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament. That successful season helped launch forward Danny Granger to an NBA career but McKay wasn't able to use that success to create a consistent program. In his two years after the 2005 season the Lobos' record is 32-26 and a disappointing 12-17 in the Mountain West Conference.
