Rita Ackermann

Rita Ackermann is an artist born in Hungary in 1968. From 1989 - 1992 she trained at the Academy of Fine Arts, Budapest. Ackermann moved from Budapest to New York in 1991. From 1992 - 1993 she trained at the The New York Studio School of Painting, Drawing and Sculpture (Hanes Foundation), New York. She has been featured in numerous museum exhibitions in the United States, Japan and Europe. She is also a member of the band Angelblood. Ackermann is represented by Andrea Rosen Gallery. She lives and works in New York City with her husband. Works include paintings, drawings, T-shirts, a line of underwear, and skateboard design. Ackermann gained attention in 1994 with paintings resembling large sketchbook pages of nymphetish girls in underwear.
