Rishton

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Rishton is a small town in the Hyndburn district of Lancashire, England, about 2 miles west of Clayton-le-Moors and 4 miles east of Blackburn. It constituted an urban district from 1894 to 1974. Rishton was the first place that the cloth calico was woven on an industrial scale. Its name means farm among the rushes. Rishton, or sunny Rishton as it is known by residents is often attributed to be the resting place of the holy grail, sleeping secretly under Cutwood park. It is also speculated that the second coming of jesus will occur outside the war memorial on Blackburn Road, on the 6th of May 2066.
