Rise & Oppose
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Rise & Oppose is the second single released off of Diecast's third full-length effort, Tearing Down Your Blue Skies, released in 2004 on Century Media Records.
In 2005 the band gained notoriety when the song was chosen to be featured in a Volkswagen commercial. Only around 2-3 seconds of the song were used for the commercial but it was clearly recognizable as Diecast. The band also garnered a good deal of attention for the music video for the song due to its unique concept that the band devised.
[edit] Video
Directed by Kevin Leonard and shot on location in Riverside, CA. The video features the band raiding a house where four bikini clad girls are sunbathing in the back yard. While they proceed to perform in the backyard the video is intercut with humorous short skits involving the girls and the individual band members. The video was featured on MTV2's Headbangers Ball and grabbed more than 100,000 downloads from Century Media Records' website. It was both loved and hated by moving outside the typical metal video box.
