[edit] Episode recap
Jon takes Garfield, Odie and Nermal to a picnic by the lake. Garfield tries to take a nap but is constantly interrupted by Nermal and then Odie, and he does mean things to each of them to get them to leave him alone. Jon scolds him and then tells him that he sleeps too much; Garfield says such a thing is not possible and then finally goes to sleep.
In Garfield’s dream, it is twenty years later, everything has a utopian Jetsons-esque look, and Garfield, Jon and Odie all have long white beards. When Jon serves lunch, it turns out to be merely tablets, and Jon explains that all food had been capsulized for nutritional value. Meanwhile, Garfield sees a newscast detailing that aliens are invading. The aliens sleep twenty-three hours per day, and during the remaining hour, they consume an entire planet’s food supply. When they invade, Garfield discovers that they all look like a younger version of him.
Jon leads everyone into a room for safety while remarking that Nermal is also in the building. Garfield looks forward to seeing the elderly version of Nermal until he discovers that Nermal is his same young and cute self. Garfield decides that he’d rather be abducted by the aliens, but then he tells Jon to wake him up.
Back in the present, Garfield sits down at a picnic table for lunch, and Jon serves him a tablet. Garfield frantically runs away in search of non-capsulized food, and Jon questions why he has a problem taking his daily vitamin tablet.
