RIOT111 was a New Zealand political Punk band from 1981 to 1984 often associate with Anarcho-punk.

The group was formed by two political activists singer 'Void' and drummer 'Roger Riot' during the South Africa national rugby union teams 1981 Springbok tour of New Zealand. The members were part of Brown squad (protesters), who were involved in running battles with the police's red squad outside the apartheid South African rugby games.

Void & Roger Riot recorded with guitarist Nick Swan and bassist Mark Crawford their first song ''1981'' based on Haka of the All Blacks became a instant hit rising to eighteen in the national pop charts. Still, having never played live, the band was instantly required to perform.
Their first performances, in Wellington, caused riot at the Uni. So they were promptly banned from playing any commercial venues. Forcing the band to hire small school halls. Void was constantly attacked on stage by girls, who would strip him of his clothes... Leaving him to perform semi nude. International touring acts, asked them to support them and through 1982 playing with The Birthday Party (band), John Cooper Clark and The Dead Kennedys. JellO Biafra wrote extensively about Void in US punk fanzines as an icon of anti-music imperialism. Riot111 was one of the first bands to express Oceania indigenous culture through alternative post-punk rock 'n' roll rebellion.

Second 45, long playing EP "'Subversive Radicals'" released and a tour of the South Island with the FirstXV (band). Resulted in four of the eight tour members being arrested in Christchurch on the first day of arrival. Playing, a street battle with police outside The Star and Garter hotel close the hotel for the year and more banning of the band.

A music clip had been created to go with 45 release,it was refused airplay by state television on, the only music channel. The band protested outside Television New Zealand building, closing roads and setting off smoke bombs through out the building. Due to close friendship with anarchist Neil Roberts, who strapped dynamite and blew up himself in a police computer database building, continued violence from skinheads and boot boys, a new bassist Tim Ord and constant trouble with the police the band started to fall apart.

Void (of Tuvalu origin) Polynesian activist; while harboring the libertino Gregory David Roberts organized with Gerard Dwyer (Flesh D-Vice) two nationwide alternative/punk concerts "golden showers" "underground emerges" From this concert, Kapital Kaos was recorded and sold to Jayrem Records. "Riot fever", and 'Move to Riot' being the bands additions to the compilation album.

Riot111 is credited with inspiring a generation of indigenous New Zealanders to create music adapted from their own culture.♠
