Ringsted is a city in Ringsted municipality located in the middle of the Danish island of Zealand. The population is 30,800 (2004).

Ringsted is located approximately 70 km from Copenhagen and provides a railway station with both national and international stops (EuroCity).

In 1137, Canute Lavard was killed in Haraldsted forest, leading to outbreaks of civil war.
