Rik Kaez, born 1979 in Nieuw Balinge, The Netherlands is a singer, composer, guitarist and blues-harp player.

His music shows influences from American folk and Grunge and can be categorized 

in the genre singer / songwriter or Anti - Folk.

He was born in New Balinge, The Netherlands and raised on the island St.Martin, The Carribean. 

At the age of eleven moved back to The Netherlands in the city Enschede.

Rik Kaez was announced best singer / songwriter of the region Overijssel in The Netherlands.

After playing several shows in New York, USA, he was picked up by an artist promotion company in Nashville Tennessee, USA. This company shops his material at independent recordcompanies.

Rik Kaez is a solo act. The instruments that are used are: vocals, guitar, blues-harp, 

kazoo, piano and guitarbanjo. He regularly plays at pop-stages, festivals, theaters, radio and t.v shows.

His lyrics have a starring role in his music and are somewhat philosophical. 

The subjects of his lyrics are mostly about: religion as an excuse for inhuman behavior, misunderstandings between men and women, drug abuse, a pessimist's view on humanity, nihilism and personal issues.

In 2006 an album was recorded which is called: Screaming blue murder
