Rigvedi

Rigvedi: The word mainly denotes one of the two subcastes of Deshastha Brahmin of Maharashtra & Karnataka, India. The other subcaste is Yajurvedi. The word Rigvedi is derived from Rigveda, one of the four holy Veda (religious texts) of Hindus. Brahmins of other regions may also have the Rigvedi / Yajurvedi distinction but the words are commonly used to diffrentiate the Deshastha subcastes.
