Right ventricular hypertrophy (RVH) is a form of ventricular hypertrophy affecting the right ventricle.
Because blood travels through the right ventricle to the lungs, then conditions making pulmonary circulation more difficult can lead to right ventricular hypertrophy.
Common causes include:
- Pulmonary hypertension
- Fallot tetralogy
- Pulmonary valve stenosis
- Ventricular septal defect (VSD)
- High altitude[1]
