Rigazzi's restaurant is a local landmark in St. Louis, Missouri. Located in the historic Italian district known as The Hill, Rigazzi's serves traditional Italian cuisine, as well as popular American dishes.

[edit] History

Partners Louis Aiazzi and John Riganti opened Rigazzi's in May 1957, combining sounds from each surname. In 1961, Louis bought John’s interest in the partnership and began operating the restaurant independently. The restaurant has been exclusively managed by the Aiazzi family since. Louis’ son, Mark, directs current operations.

Rigazzi’s is best known for serving Frozen Fishbowls, which are 32 ounce goblets, frozen to deliver a cool drink. Rigazzi’s has trademarked the Fishbowl in the states of Missouri and Illinois. Additionally, Rigazzi’s menu carries over 200 items.

In 2006, an AOL City Guide poll recognized Rigazzi’s as St. Louis’ “Best Italian Restaurant” and the place to find the city’s “Best Toasted ravioli.”

Rigazzi’s is the oldest restaurant on The Hill and will celebrate its 50th Anniversary in May 2007.
