[edit] Rockwells and Lounsburys

I am unclear whether the Rockwells or the Lounsburys were the earlier of the two names in Ridgefield history. If anyone has access to "The History of Ridgefield" by George Rockwell, I would appreciate any additional detail. Note for researchers, this is an excellent history of the area and its families. --Zippy 06:09, 2 February 2006 (UTC)

I found out that there are two streets named for these families in Ridgefield: Rockwell Rd and a Lounsbury Rd. Also, the Ridgefield Community Center is on the National Historical Register as "The Lounsbury House." --Zippy 00:14, 22 September 2006 (UTC)
Rockwells were among the first settlers of the town, coming in 1708 or shortly thereafter. Lounsburys did not arrive until a century later. There are Rockwell descendants still living in town. Jack Sanders 11:06, 22 September 2006 (UTC)

Is the 05-06 hockey team really pertinent to this website? --User:68.54.114.88 18 Mar 2006
