Ride Like the Wind was a hit single for Christopher Cross in 1980, appearing on his self-titled debut album. It reached #2 in the US charts. On the album inner sleeve, Christopher Cross dedicated this song to Lowell George, formerly of the band Little Feat, who died in 1979.

The song was also covered by the British Heavy Metal band Saxon on their 1988 album Destiny.
