[edit] History
[edit] 2002-2004
The band launched their first album entited Hurry Up and Wait on August 6, 2002 featuring "I Feel Fine", a song that quickly became popular and was featured in the 2002 movie Orange County and Rob Schneider's movie The Hot Chick. The band also made a music video for this track, based on the movie Loverboy starring Patrick Dempsey. In addition, the song "Pick Up the Pieces" was featured in the soundtrack for the video game ATV Offroad Fury 2, and a movie called Extreme Ops.
The band toured heavily for over two years after their first album was released. The Riddlin' Kids' sophomore album, Stop the World, was launched on October 22, 2004. The album was quite different in style to its predecessor, and the songs "Never Live it Down (outside writer)" and "Stop the World (outside writer)" became the Riddlin' Kids' next singles. "Ship Jumper" also quickly became an Internet favorite.
[edit] 2004-2005 (break-up)
The launch of the bands' second album marked the end of their 6 year career together as the Riddlin' Kids. After the launch of that album in late 2004, the band toured relentlessly again. After touring very heavily for over 5 years to promote their two albums, the band began to feel quite "burned out". The band mutually agreed to break up in August 2005.
It has been noted that many Riddlin' Kids fans did not know, as late as March of 2006, that the band has broken up. As indicated by the bands' MySpace page, most fans of the band still believe the band is together and touring.[1] The Riddlin' Kids break-up has been confirmed.[2]
[edit] 2004-2005 (solo careers)
Johnson went on to form the rock and roll band, New Disaster. New Disaster released their first album entitled Last Night Rites in November of 2006. Baker and Keel are currently working on a project entitled "Clint's Junior Orchestra". Stroud formed Say Hello to the Angels, which is recording their first album.
Baker also had a one time appearance in the FOX hit TV show House. While Baker was shooting the show, he and Keel began to record demos for "Clint's Junior Orchestra", allegedly unbeknownst to Johnson and Stroud. Paul Ebersold, the producer for two of the Riddlin' Kids' albums, helped to record three demo tracks for Baker and Keel's new project. Some of these songs may be part of the soundtrack for the new movie Weekend Junkies.
