I did my MA dissertation in medieval Persian manuscript painting (though I unfortunately do not read Persian or Arabic). I also concentrated on Russian history for the history side of my degree, with a particular emphasis on the nineteenth century and first half of the twentieth century, the revolutionary movements, Dostoevsky, Tolstoy, the Bolsheviks, and Stalin. I am also particularly interested in New England, where I am from, Scotland, where I live, and Mexico, where my partner is from.
