Talk:Richard Van Vleet

Richard, I was in Mexico in May and I saw you on all my children. Hopefully I will get the chance to work with you again. Mark Rosenkranz

[edit] He's Western State's Horatio Alger

Far back in the mists of time Rich could be seen scrubbing pots and pans while rehearsing his lines at the Keating Cafeteria at Western State College in Gunnison, Colorado. He was the classic struggling young artist. I was lucky enough to be able to pay Rich to do a series of political and editorial cartoons during my cameo appearance as college newspaper editor. He also did a memorable montage for our literary magazine upon the death of Winston Churchill. Along with Bob Lind ("Elusive Butterfly") and Ken Maruyama (Industrial Light) they are notable Western Staters in show biz.
