[edit] Name

The claim about Steve Austin being inspired by Kuklinski is blatantly false. Austin has said in several interviews that the name came from his wife, a British native, who was familiar with the phrase "stone cold" as opposed to the American "ice cold," and used it in reference to Austin not drinking his tea until several minutes after it had come out of the kettle, hence, letting it get "stone cold."70.241.29.250 00:48, 10 May 2006 (UTC)

He was not well-liked and he routinely physically and verbally abused his family, often threatening their lives. I'm watching a live interview with his family on CNN right now and they are discussing the fact. --72.66.4.90 01:40, 27 June 2006 (UTC) Brett George

This is true. I saw an interview with Austin and his wife where they discussed the origin of his "stage" name.

Removed the item from article.

Also, stone cold is a part of the American idiom, e.g. "stone cold" killer or "stone cold" dead. Americans never make statements like, "stone cold beer."

And we never call a tea pot anything but...a tea pot.

[edit] Murdered for Sammy "the Bull"?

Added fact to the speculation that Kuklinski might have been murdered for potentially testifying against Sammy "the Bull" Gravano for the slaying of a police officer a quarter of a century ago. "The Bull" won't get out of prison until he's nearly 90 and, even if convincted of ordering this hit, what more punishment could possibly be inflicted? Even if sentenced to death, the odds of Gravano seeing the inside of the death chamber are ridiculously remote considering the time between a death sentence an execution is between 15 and 20 years.

Besides that, it beggers belief that the Gambino family would care about what happened to a "snitch" who had put their "don" in the gray bar hotel for life--let alone go to the trouble of arranging a murder on his behalf!

It absolutely doesn't make sense PainMan and, to put it bluntly, it was one final grab at attention by Kuklinski. That anyone, whether it's the Mafia or the United States government, would assist Gravano after he betrayed them both is pretty tough to believe. In fact, there is evidence to suggest that the entire plot to frame Gravano for Calabro's murder was originally conceived by a Gambino soldier who was briefly imprisoned with Kuklinski by the name of Robert Bisaccia. [edit] His family

Richard Leonard Rodrick Kuklinski was not what people or his so-called known? family believes...He had and still has family left...he had other families before the HBO family everyone knows of and had another family...the family that loved him and mourn him and stood by him in prison and who watched him die. To all in Trenton, both the staff who called him "Kuk" and his friends in the prison who knew just who was always there for Richie on that visiting line and who loved, adored him and still miss him deeply and who do not seek monitary gains by books or Larry King...things are never what they seem. Richie had a loving family, not the known family people see on t.v. but the family who never abandoned him in that prison and who everyone knew to be his wife and child for surely they were in every way. "Cupcake"...we miss you and never forget you for one day of our lives. We are empty without you and miss you. Richard Kuklinski sported a wedding band and a Daddy's ring from his unknown family and when he first became ill told the Sgt. Gamble at Trenton...tell them I love them and I will call them tonight and "that was the family" he indeed called that night and everyday and everynight- 3 times a day all the time because he was loved and he knew it. Not even in death can you take this fact which is a matter of record away...(we have our family album to look at and our great memories of a life we had with you) not even death can separate your loved ones from you. Richie you live on honey, you live on in us. We were the three muskateers to all our friends and to all the guards and we were and are proud you loved us as we loved you. Our lives can never be the same without you. Sleep with the Angels baby...you are free from Trenton's walls at last.

Hey..PainMan....what are you a fan for Sammy the Bull -you forget who the snitch was in this organized crime family...not Richard Kuklinski but Sammy the Snitch...You seem to have a perverted sense of idealism and devotion to this Sammy the Baldheaded Bull..The Feds should look at you for answers.

As for you, Bret ...don't believe what you watch on Larry King live.. the three women were Kuk's ex-wife who didn't visit him in ages (if he were alive, he would never believe what was written about him because he believed any member of his family, even after abandoning him would never lie about him) and his two daughters who likewise never went to see him and admit to hating him, but why if you think about it, would anyone who has suffered a bad home life exploit and try to make money off of it but rather would have emotions of shame and privacy and embarrashment...this book is just another means of making money, off of a man who they claimed on HBO years earlier was the "Perfect Family Man"-now he can't defend himself so anyone can say anything they like. Ladies...make up your minds...did he mistreat you or was it like you said on the HBO specials...you were the perfect family-you said it!...you can't have it both ways. Let this man rest in peace. You may be surprised how loved he was and is to this day-and thought of every day with much affection and the best of memories. He was the most charismic, charming and loving man. Why all the cruel remarks about Richie...no one does this with any other crime family figure. (For Richard Jr. and David Kuklinski: Your father is with you now in Heaven)he always loved you-this I know, for he said so and he never lied. From: The 2 woman who loved Kuk and whom Kuk loved back. His girls, his family. No one can take that fact away nor can his death take him away from us.

Sleep on the Wings of Angels Richie Honey YOU GAVE US NOTHING BUT HAPPINESS AND YOU SAID YOU LOVED US MORE THAN LIFE ITSELF. WE MISS YOU -YOUR KISS AND TOUCH AND VOICE AND NOTHING CAN EVER CHANGE THAT. WE HAVE OUR FAMILY ALBUM -ALWAYS LAUGHING AND HUGGING AND KISSING IN ALL THE PICTURES. EVERYTIME I HEAR OUR SONG I SMILE...CAUSE I KNOW IT'S YOU WATCHING OVER US. YOU CAN NEVER DIE, YOU LIVE ON IN US.

Happy Thanksgiving in Heaven Richie Honey...us...we miss you very much. Nothing is the same without you. We miss spending the holidays with you -in Trenton as well as when you were free. We built a life didn't we---even in that prison and we wouldn't have traded it for all the world. You said you loved us more than life itself...but now we can say that we love you in death just as profoundly as we did in life. Every noon and every evening we miss your calls...you were so cute...you'd call back as many times as you could. The weekends were our special time and we can almost smell your cologne on your neck and we laugh at the memories of the special things you did. The way the guards loved you and the other inmates idolized you. You were a paradox...a man to be feared and yet a man to be respected!!! To all the staff and friends and inmates who came to be our family at Trenton....who know us as Kuk's family...and for all the years of being so good to us as a family. We shall never forget our time of "doing time with Richie". From our hearts we miss our life (even there) with our beloved Richie and we are lost without him. We miss you all. Have a happy holiday. These holidays will be the first in many years without Richie and they have lost their meaning to us as a family because even though he was in those walls...he ruled our household. Baby, we can't do anything without you.

The family no one new about

Happy holdidays to all of our Richie's friends who knew of us as his family (because we were just that) and respected our relationship.
