Talk:Rich Ferguson

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

I noticed that this article has been proposed for deletion because it seems "unencyclopedic, non-notable, self promoting SPAM, see other contributions". Having seen Rich Ferguson in person I can attest that he is on par with Criss Angel and David Blaine. He is certainly a noteworthy force in the magic community and is not "unencyclopedic, non-notable". I think this article simply needs some revision to be appropriate for this encyclopedia.

Basar, pardon me... I did understand I was removing tags that needed to stay... I thought after the modifications, it was a new post all together. I will get back to you this week about the "copyright" issue. I have asked Stuart at Betfair about the Chip Trick info the I WROTE HIM last year. It has all the perfect info for the Chip Tricks enrty... I will provide and show you his complete reply from our emails.

[edit] Prod removal

I'll remove the prod since User:Jonbeebe objects, but someone else could still AFD the article. I'm not going to though. Basar 07:38, 27 January 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Areas for improvement

For all those that feel this article needs improvement, what areas are the weakest for you?

I feel that one of the most notable aspects of Rich as a magician is that he has invented some tricks that are far superior to the average street magician, illusionist, and mentalist. His mixture of these methods together with the creativity to invent magic tricks has led to some seemingly absurdly impossible illusions, such as this reference to making words appear on the persons body. The YouTube video linked is great, but I would like to see more of an explanation of Rich's inventive skills that set him apart from other magicians. Jonbeebe 16:36, 27 January 2007 (UTC)

[edit] stubbed

I have stubbed the article since it was almost entirely written by Ucmagic (talk contribs), who is apparently Rich Ferguson himself. It should be noted that writing articles about oneself is strongly discouraged by WP:AUTO and WP:COI. Since Mr. Ferguson appears to be notable, I have reduced the article to a stub rather than deleting it outright. I encourage him to avoid editing the article beyond correcting errors or removing vandalism. Rather, he should post a request here on the talk page and allow impartial editors to make the changes instead.  Þ  02:38, 8 February 2007 (UTC)
