Austin Kasso committed a satanic murder in Northport, New York in 1984. He was a follower of Anton LaVey.
The satanic group he associated with was called "Knights of the Black Circle". They held demonic ceremonies around Long Island, mostly in Northport, but there was also a significant one at the famous Amityville house to celebrate Walpurgisnacht.
Austin Kasso was committed involuntarily to the South Oaks asylum in Amityville, New York. He claimed that he murdered because a black crow brought him a message from Satan, telling him to do so. Two weeks after his arrest he committed suicide.
Several movies have been made about him, such as Austin 6, My Sweet Satan, and The Black Circle Boys. The band Wiseblood have written a song about Kasso and the Knights of the Black Circle entitled "0-0 (Where Evil Dwells)". Fear Factory covered this song on the digi-pak of their album Obsolete
The stoner metal band Acid King are named after his nickname 'The Acid King'.
