Rick Telander is a sports columnist with the Chicago Sun-Times. Telander graduated from Northwestern University, where he played football. He is also an occasional contributor to Sports Illustrated magazine.

He is the author of two books, The Hundred-Yard Lie and Heaven Is A Playground. The latter was named by Sports Illustrated as one of the 100 best sports books of all time.
