Rick Leach (baseball player)

Richard Max Leach (born May 4, 1957 in Ann Arbor, Michigan), is a former college football player and professional baseball player who played in the Major Leagues primarily as a backup outfielder and first baseman from 1981-1990.

- Leach was a star quarterback at the University of Michigan from 1976-1978 under legendary coach Bo Schembechler.[citation needed]
- In 1978, he finished 3rd in balloting for the Heisman Trophy, behind Billy Sims and Chuck Fusina.[citation needed]
- On August 6, 1990, Leach is suspended for 60 days by then baseball commissioner Fay Vincent following a positive drug test.[citation needed]
