It is the terminus of the line and is the furthest distance one can travel from Central on the suburban CityRail network. The platform has ramps down to the street access and therefore has Easy Access for wheelchairs.

[edit] History
The line opened in 1864. In 1926, an extension northwards to Kurrajong opened. This extension closed in 1952 after flooding, due to low and uneconomical levels of traffic, and little evidence of it now remains[1]. Electrification was completed to Richmond station in 1991.
[edit] Platforms/Service
The station is generally served by approximately two trains per hour. Trains may depart for Sydney from both platforms.
