[edit] October 23rd 2006 Walk-Out

On October 23rd 2006 around 200 students walked out of class and the school in protest of comments made by a Halifax Herald reporter. The Reporter called all RA students racist against the native Canadian students that go to the school. The protest started at 9:00am, while classes resumed for the students remaining in the school. At 11:30am the conflict was peacefully resolved, when the reporter who made the comments agreed to come to the school to apologize. By the time school resumed around 100 students had left for the day. [1] [2]
