Richland Senior High School

Richland Senior High School is a high school located in Richland Township, Pennsylvania, a suburb of Johnstown, Pennsylvania. It is part of the Richland School District and has approximately 800 students in grades 8-12; a brand new high school is under construction for the 2007-2008 school year.

Athletics, Mascot
Richland is classified as a single "A" school for most sports, while in other sports it reaches the double "A" classification. Though Richland has not had any state championship teams for awhile, Richland has had success on the state level with the girls volleyball team winning the state title a number of times in the 1990s as well as placing numerous years. Notable individual athletes have gone through its doors in the sports of swimming, Jessica Brutz state champion (6-Time High School All-American and 6-Time NCAA All-American), Richland has also has two state wrestling champions, Eric Bowser won states in 1986 while Chad Sichak won a state title in 2002. Stephanie Istivan may be the most decorated athlete to pass through Richland earning two consecutive Gatorade player of the year honors. In addition, The Richland Boys Soccer Team has won its District Championship three years in a row, advancing to the Pennsylvania Single A State Boys Soccer Playoffs; Cross Country placed for team and individuals during that time as well.
Richland school colors are Red and Blue.
Fine Arts
The Rams have also had many successes in the fine arts, with many people receiving recognition for their work. Also, representatives are sent to state band, orchestra, and chorus competitions annually. In the past, the Marching Band also has enjoyed several successes at state and national competitions.
