Richie Guerin

Richard V. Guerin (born May 29, 1932, in New York City) is a former NBA forward and professional basketball coach. He graduated from Mount Saint Michael Academy (1950) in the Bronx and Iona College in 1954. [1]
At Iona, he scored 1,375 points in 67 games. [2]
Guerin was one of the NBAs elite guards in the late 50s and early 60s, while playing with the New York Knicks. He coached the St. Louis Hawks/Atlanta Hawks for several years, earning Coach of the Year honors in 1968. When he retired in 1971, he had a 327-291 record. [3]
A member of the Marine Corps Reserve from 1947 to 1954, he was inducted in the Marine Corps Sports Hall of Fame in 2004. [4]
