Richard "Pocky" Kim

Richard "Pocky" Kim is a Korean-American, and was born in Baltimore, Maryland. He is a known anime convention personality and freelance translator. He has worked as a translator on anime shows and video games for several years.

In addition, he has written articles for EX magazine EX: The online world of anime and manga on the games "Super Dimensional Fortress Macross: Do You Remember Love?" and Sakura Taisen (Sakura Wars).

He has been a part of the anime convention circuit for over twelve years now, working as a staffer for a variety of U.S. conventions. Richard has been part of the staff of Katsucon for this entire duration, holding the position of vice con chair for four years, and the position of con chair for two years. He has recently decided to step down from the staff of Katsucon (and other conventions) in order to focus more on his career. As of this writing, Richard has attended well over one hundred conventions (anime and otherwise).

From 2000 to 2002, Richard taught English in Japan, in Kanagawa Prefecture as part of the JET Programme.
