Richard Nerysoo

Richard Nerysoo is a politician from Northwest Territories, Canada.
Richard served a long career as Member of the Legislative Assembly of Northwest Territories (MLA). He served as the third premier of Northwest Territories, and also served as speaker.
Richard served a legendary career and made a number of firsts during his time in office. He served as the first aboriginal premier of the territory, as well as the first aboriginal speaker of the territory, and the youngest person in Canadian history to serve as premier. He was also the youngest MLA to be elected in the history of the territories.
Richard retired from the legislature in 1995 and currently serves on the Gwich'in Tribal Council.
