Richard Fidler

Richard Fidler (born November 13, 1964) is a well-known Australian Republican and Australian ABC TV and radio presenter. He first came to prominence in the 1980s as a member of the Doug Anthony All Stars (DAAS), an Australian musical comedy group also comprising Tim Ferguson and Paul McDermott. The group split in 1994.
Richard Fidler has since presented various TV shows, including Race Around the World, Aftershock, Mouthing Off and Vulture. In 2005, he fronted the 7-10pm shift on ABC Local Radio station 612 ABC Brisbane.
In 2006, Fidler presents the newly-configured 11am-3pm shift on 612 ABC Brisbane. The first hour, known as "The Conversation Hour", is also heard on 702 ABC Sydney and across both ABC New South Wales and Queensland. 12-1pm, Richard takes a backseat to "The World Today", current affairs from Sydney. 1-3pm Richard is heard on 612 ABC Brisbane only.
An active supporter of republicanism, Richard Fidler was elected to the National Committee of the Australian Republican Movement in 2001 and also chairs their Constitutional Issues Committee.
Richard Fidler lives in Brisbane with his wife and two children.
