Dr Richard DiNatale is the lead Senate Candidate for the Australian Greens in Victoria in the 2007 Australian federal election and an international public health specialist. He lives in Melbourne, and India - where he is currently working for HIV prevention.
DiNatale came very close to taking the Victorian Legislative Assembly seat of Melbourne from Bronwyn Pike in the 2002 and 2006 state elections, and came second to John So in the Melbourne City Council Mayoral elections in 2004. He also ran as the second candidate on the Victorian Greens senate ticket in the Australian legislative election, 2004.
Some psephologists tipped him to win the seat of Melbourne at the 2006 state election [1], but he won only 48% of the two party preferred vote.
