Richard David Martell (born March 27, 1987) is a journalist for the 411mania wrestling article the Triple Threat Column.[1]
David Martell, as he is known, was born on March 27th, 1987 in Dallas, TX. At the age of two, he moved to Rhode Island because his father, Richard James Martell, joined the United States Army. Soon after, his parents got divorced. In 1994 he was visiting his family in Mississippi and was in a serious car accident. He broke his leg in two different places, was placed in a body cast, and hospitalized for two months.
After spending a year in Mississippi he moved to Seagoville, TX and was raised there. After completing high school, he was accepted into the University of North Texas with his best friend Jeremy Robertson, where he is majoring in Journalism. It was here that he met Sean Garmer and Alex Mattis. The three got the idea to write a column on Myspace about wrestling called the Trio's Wrestling Blog.[2] It was quickly changed to the Triple Threat Column and was quite successful among wrestling fans.
With the support of Jeremy, the trio submitted an application to 411mania's wrestling editor Larry Csonka. Csonka approved and it became a weekly column in the wrestling section of the site.
