Richard Corish

Richard Corish (1889 – 1945) was an Irish politician.
Born in Wexford in 1889, Corish was educated by the Christian Brothers in the town. Following his education he became a trade union official. He was elected to Dáil Éireann in 1920 as a Sinn Féin Teachta Dála, but soon joined the Labour Party. He served in the Dáil, as well as Mayor of Wexford until his death 1945. He was the father of the former Tánaiste and Labour Party leader Brendan Corish.
