Richard Atkins

Broadcaster Richard Atkins has presented on many BBC Local Radio Stations & is currently heard on BBC Radio Gloucestershire.

His Broadcasting career started in 1985, when he was heard presenting shows on BBC WM in Birmingham, before joining BBC Radio Cornwall in 1986, where he would remain for just over 10 years.

Atkins originally joined BBC Radio Gloucestershire in 1997 but briefly quit the station in late 2000 due to ill health.

He returned to the station in April 2002 as a cover presenter & took over the Saturday afternoon sports show during the summer of that year.

Atkins then took over the Sunday Breakfast show in October 2002 from 6-9am & in addition to that in April 2003 took over Saturday Breakfast as well.

In September 2005, Atkins moved from the Breakfast slot to the lunchtimes 12-2pm slot on Saturdays, but still continued with his Sunday Breakfast Show.

Richard can be heard on BBC Radio Gloucestershire every Saturday Lunchtime from 12-2pm & every Sunday Morning from 6-9am.

His Saturday Lunchtime show includes a mix of Classic Album Track & Guests & Sunday Breakfast includes a mixture of news, chat, music & faith.
