Rich Olive is the Iowa State Senator from the 5th District. He has served in the Iowa Senate since 2007.

Olive currently serves on several committees in the Iowa Senate - the Agriculture committee; the Commerce committee; the Local Government committee; and the Economic Growth committee, where he is vice chair. He also serves on the Economic Development Appropriations Subcommittee.

Olive was elected in 2006 with 11,224 votes, defeating Republican opponent James Kurtenbach. [1]
