Ricardo Romero

Ricardo Romero Jr. (born November 6, 1984 in Los Angeles, California) is an American baseball player.

He graduated from Roosevelt High School in East Los Angeles, California. From there he went to play college baseball for Cal State Fullerton. As a left-handed pitcher he has drawn comparisons to Minnesota Twins ace Johan Santana. In 2005 he was drafted by the Toronto Blue Jays, in the first round, 6th overall, just two spots after Washington Nationals third baseman Ryan Zimmerman. Romero was sent to the Blue Jays New York-Penn League affiliate in Auburn, New York. He made only one start for the Auburn Doubledays, on Friday, July, 22, 2005. It was an away game against the Tri-City Valley Cats, at Joseph L. Bruno Stadium, in Troy, New York. Following the game, he was promoted to the Dunedin Blue Jays of the Florida State League. On June 27, 2006, Romero was promoted to the New Hampshire Fisher Cats of the Eastern League
