Ric Birch

Ric Birch, born in Australia, was a former Rock and Roll entertainer.
He started his career studying Law, but his eventual profession took him down a different path. His career includes:
- Executive Director behind the Opening and Closing ceremonies for the Brisbane's 1982 Commonwealth Games
- Director of Production for Los Angeles' 1984 The Games of the XXIII Olympiad
- Executive Producer for the Opening and Closing ceremonies for Barcelona's 1992 Games of the XXV Olympiad
- Executive Producer of the Opening and Closing Ceremonies of the Sydney 2000 Olympic Games.
His latest production was the Opening and Closing Ceremonies of Torino 2006, the XX Olympic Winter Games. It is also his first time producing ceremonies for a Winter Olympic Games.
Ric Birch was also Director for Entertainment at World Expo '88 in Brisbane. He has also been responsible for the production of other World Expos.
Ric Birch is the director and Founder of Spectak, an events production company based in Sydney, though he currently lives in Los Angeles.
