Ric's Art Boat
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Recreative International Center or RIC has been created by the artist Erik Pevernagie in 1973 . He was supported by many colleagues and students who live worldwide by now. They were influenced by the spirit of the late sixties: Nanterres, Berkeley, Marcuse, Dutchke, Cohn-Bendit. Pevernagie wanted to put the stress on the recreational part in life, apart from work and sleep. He advocated that one third of our life should be available for creative leisure. For that purpose "imagination had to be brought into power". Old values had to be scrutinized carefully. In order to meet the recreational demands two floating social and cultural entertainment centers were brought into existence: Ric's Art Boat and Ric's River Boat.
