Ribfest

The Ribfest is an annual festival held in Spencer Smith Park by the lakeshore in the City of Burlington, Ontario. It was started in 1995 by The Burlington Lakeshore Rotary Club. The Ribfest runs for four days during the Labour Day weekend. It is "Canada's Largest Ribfest".

[edit] 2003 Economic Impact Study
In 2003, an economic impact study was completed on "Canada's Largest Ribfest". Here are some interesting highlights from the study:
Almost 50% of our visitors to the Ribfest came from outside Burlington.
Furthermore, the study determined that $1.8 million in new spending occurred in the region as a direct result of the event.
And most importantly, 100% of the respondents would recommend "Canada's Largest Ribfest to their out-of-town friends or relatives and 96% planned to attend again next year!

There are a number of ways you can measure who has the title of "Canada's Largest Ribfest".
You could measure by attendance. Over 131,000 people attended last year!
You could measure by the pounds of ribs sold. Over 90,000 pounds of ribs sold.
You could measure by the number of Rib Teams. 15 Rib teams from across North America!
You could measure by money raised for the community. Over $1.3 million dollars raised over the last 10 years for our community.
